CENELEC - europäische elektrotechnische Standardisierung

CENELEC entstand 1973 aus dem Zusammenschluss von CENELCOM und CENEL und ist eine not for profit Organisation unter belgischem Recht.

CENELEC fungiert als Plattform für Experten zur Entwicklung Europäischer Normen (EN), die den Welthandel durch die Beseitigung von Handelsschranken, die Förderung des Wirtschaftswachstums und die Erschliessung neuer Märkte erleichtern. Ein Ziel der CENELEC ist es, sich auf gemeinsame Spezifikationen zu einigen, um den Bedürfnissen der Industrie gerecht zu werden, die Erwartungen der Verbraucher zu erfüllen und Normen zu schaffen, die vom Markt verlangt werden, als auch harmonisierte Normen, die zur Unterstützung der europäischen Gesetzgebung dienen.

Die CENELEC ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation nach belgischem Recht und ist nebst CEN und ETSI einer der europäischen Normungsentwicklungsorganisationen (SDO). CENELEC schafft den Marktzugang auf europäischer, aber auch auf internationaler
Ebene und übernimmt internationale Normen, wo immer möglich, durch seine enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Internationalen Elektrotechnischen Kommission (IEC) im Rahmen entsprechender Abkommen.

Das CES ist das schweizerische Nationalkomitee in der CENELEC.

In der CENELEC entscheidet das Bureau Technique (BT) darüber, ob ein Normungsvorschlag angenommen wird das Normenprojekt gestartet.

Abstimmungsprozesse

Die Länder haben eine unterschiedliche Stimmenanzahl bei gewichteten CENELEC Abstimmungen. Die Schweiz hat die gleiche Stimmenanzahl wie Österreich, Schweden und Bulgarien. Bei CENELEC gilt ein Dokument als angenommen, wenn 71,00 % oder mehr der gewichteten abgegebenen Stimmen (ohne Enthaltungen) mit «Ja» abgegeben wurden.
