La Commissione elettrotecnica internazionale (IEC) è un’organizzazione no profit che dal 1906 elabora le norme internazionali nel settore dell’elettrotecnica, dell’elettronica e delle tecnologie correlate.

Quasi 20 000 esperti nell’ambito dell’industria, dell’economia, degli istituti di formazione e di diversi gruppi di interesse contribuiscono in tutto il mondo all’attività di normazione. Le norme IEC rispecchiano le esigenze dei comitati nazionali dei Paesi partecipanti.

Il CES è il comitato nazionale svizzero all’interno dell’IEC. I membri dell’IEC sono parte di una rete internazionale di esperti.

L’80% delle norme elettrotecniche svizzere si basano sull’IEC.

L’IEC 1906 Award  è un tributo a ricordo dell’istituzione dell’International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), avvenuta nel 1906.

82° General Meeting dell’IEC a Busan

Dal 22 al 26 ottobre 2018 si è svolto a Busan, nella Corea del Sud, l’82° General Meeting dell’IEC.  Con le elezioni indette per l’occasione sono stati nominati diversi nuovi membri all’interno dei comitati direttivi. Le persone elette eserciteranno un influsso decisivo sul futuro orientamento dell’IEC.

Corrigenda delle norme

Eine inhaltlich technische Änderung erfordert immer ein Amendment. Ratifizierte Normen dürfen niemals technisch verändert werden. Hingegen werden rein formale Korrekturen über die Korrigenda möglichst rasch kommuniziert. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt fliessen diese Anpassungen in die Aktualisierung der betreffenden Norm ein.
