The Quantum Cascade Laser is a device that is able, using conventional III-V semiconductor technology, to cover two decades of frequency corresponding to wavelengths between 3 and more than 300 microns. Recent progresses in performances as well as the widening commercial availability of this device has opened new possibilities for a large range of applications in sensing for medical, environnemental and security applications.
