Some 850 technical experts of the Electrosuisse industry members work in a voluntary capacity in the various fields of electrotechnical standardization.
Standards fulfil important functions for both manufacturers and consumers. Among other things, they make it possible to achieve a high level of safety, good quality and compatibility of electrotechnical and information technology products.
The globalization of markets and the shortening of innovation cycles require consistent standardization. In Switzerland, the platform for this important task in electrical engineering and information technology is the CES.
