ATEX 95 – Directive 94/9/EC

Electrosuisse is the only notified body (1258) for the EU in Switzerland that can test and certify electrical and non-electrical equipment for use in areas at risk of explosion according to ATEX 95, Directive 94/9/EC.

Electrosuisse has the authority to perform and certify conformity evaluation procedures for appliances and protection systems for proper use in areas at risk of explosion.
According to Directive 94/9/EC, this comprises:

• EC type examination according to Appendix III
• Quality assurance of the production according to Appendix IV
• Testing of the products according to Appendix V
• Type conformity according to Appendix VI
• Quality assurance of the product according to Appendix VII
• Internal production monitoring and technical documentation according to Appendix VIII
• Individual testing according to Article 8 Section 1 Para. b Subpara. ii (Appendix IX)
