Obtain your appliance certification and get the country approval to expand sales.
Electrosuisse can guide you with electrical safety testing to receive certification documents for global access.
• Is mandatory or voluntary requirement applicable?
• What documents are needed for safety approval?
• Do I need an Importer in the certification process for my goods?
• How to get certification for household appliances or consumer products?
• What are the electrical safety regulations and harmonized technical standards?
• Why not expand your markets beyond European Union?
• Is energy efficiency labelling necessary, or even a hygienic Certificate?
Detailed requirement for each country
Today
electrical products must meet all technical requirements to be
internationally accepted for a successful export. The product approval
requirement are different in every country. We know about the
certification procedure and documents required and can deal with the
certification authority. We do mandatory testing for electrical goods
and products covered by consumer safety laws.
Let us test your
electrical equipment, check the government regulations to receive
product certification. Mandatory conformity mark will require type
testing. Some country may need Certificate of Conformity (CoC),
Declaration of Conformity (DoC), Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) or will
be fine with just a registration.
Use our PDF country factsheet for
a better overview of specific need in each country or region and get to
know the international specifications. We recommend to consider
conformity requirements early in the product development phase to avoid
problems e.g. with customs.
National certification bodies grant
permission faster if Electrosuisse a National certification body will
submit the application with the right information and documents while
safety and EMC testing has been performed in the global view of export.
Increase
your sales and trade your goods in new market like China, Korea,
Malaysia, Russia, South America, Gulf countries... Provide the
Harmonized System Codes (HS Code) and let us know about your product
that we can check if compulsory standards apply.
Electrosuisse - Your key for certification and selling electrical products world wide
• Safety Testing according IEC International standards and EN European standards
• EMC testing (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
• Factory Inspection
• ENEC mark (Safety Mark recognized in European Union)
• IEC CB-Certificates
Meet electrical safety regulations - We test and issue required certificates
IECEE is a System for conformity testing and certification of electrical equipment.
The
IECEE CB Scheme exists for over 20 years (Electrosuisse is founding
member) and is the only international recognition scheme for safety of
electrical equipment to simplify granting of certification or approval
at national levels. Certificates are issued by certification body
members of the Schemes such as Electrosuisse. One national test should
eliminate retesting in member countries.
• 52 IECEE Country Members, 74 participating countries in IEC
• Eliminate multiple national certifications
• Accommodate national differences
• Reduced testing and certification costs
• More rapid testing and certification
How it works
• Manufacturers seeking world wide certification
• Manufacturer send electrical product for testing to Electrosuisse
• Electrosuisse laboratory tests the product for conformity to IEC standards
• Electrosuisse (National Certification Body) issues CB Test Report and CB Test Certificate
• Manufacturer now wishes to sell the product in another country
• Electrosuisse sends the certificate to a test lab in the aimed country
• Certification authority of the country issues its certificate without having to test the equipment
• It recognizes the testing and assessment that has already been done by Electrosuisse
• Manufacturer
may now affix the national mark of conformity of the this country to
the product and may export the product to that country
Your advantage certifying with Electrosuisse
Global market requirements are quite complex as they are usually product dependent for each country.
• You have just one point of contact, as we will handle your application for your export markets.
• Get early price estimation that you can make your budgetary planning accordingly.
• You can access multiple countries more efficient if we test national deviations within the base testing.
• Whenever possibly we use existing product test data.
• Take
the stress for approaching new markets from of your own staff and
profit from our knowledge from previous certification projects.
• Benefit possibly from a bundled factory inspection to avoid time consuming inspections
Let us help to simplify the global market entry!
Start the global certification planning now
Here is a checklist for better guidance:
1. Define target markets for further expanding sales.
Determine a market list with priority per country you may wish to export first.
Define which products may be best selling per country.
2. Define mandatory requirements
Compulsory Safety marks, EMC, Energy saving labels, other label requirements, Trademark registration, local importer …
For
assignment, a clear product description and Harmonized System Codes (HS
Code) and relevant IEC standard will help. In view of certification
requirement Electrosuisse can assist you.
3. Gap analysis
What is missing to expand sales in a new country
Check what has been tested or even certified already?
Availability
of test reports, (CB-)Certificates, critical components certificates,
factory surveillance reports, manual in other languages?
Are national deviation already tested?
4. Cost analysis
Cost may greatly vary from country to country, therefore define costs per country and product.
Define
price for testing and certification, possible design adaptation for
conformity achieving, other (hidden) expenses such as manual costs for
additional language versions, logistic, sales network (travelling
expenses), Trademark registration, Check kind of communication (time
difference)
Follow-up expenses such as factory inspection fees, licences
5. Other consideration
• Language and cultural barriers
• Risk of copying
• How fix is a design?
Critical component availability can have an influence. New product version may need additional testing and certifying.
• Realistic time to market
• Manufacturing capacity
• Version handling (logistics)
6. Decision
